Cauliflower Smoothiebowl

Turning my favourite “rice”, and “mash” alternative into a smoothie.

I love using cauliflower in recipes. Not only is it packed with nutrients but it has a mild flavour so it can be used in anything from sweet to savoury. I have used cauliflower to make pizza bases, “hash browns”, mash, rice…and now in place of bananas in a smoothie.

It gives the “thickness” texture  without the extra carbs and sugar.

(Not saying carbs or bananas or natural sugars are bad, but sometimes we can do with an alternative)

For this smoothie bowl I have used :

  • 1/4 head of cauliflower  (riced, steamed, then cooled)
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 serve of plant based protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp ricemalt syrup.

Blend until smooth and creamy.

** for the pic uterus below I used the same recipe, plus a teaspoon of maca powder.

Topped with stewed cinnamon and ginger apples
