So i have an addiction. I don’t think a single day goes by where i dont have a spoonful of nutbutter at some point during the day. And im always well stocked up so even if i wanted to quit i just cant. I don’t think i even eat it with anything? It would just take away from the flavour 😂 a jar and a spoon please. My husband doesn’t blink an eye lid anymore when i eat peanutbutter straight from the jar in the kitchen. depending on where I am in the world it can be an expensive addiction so occasionally I’ll make my own. You can use any nuts.(Macadamias however I find have a bit of a strange consistency) and although i will never get sick of peanutbutter its nice to have a change up. And almond butter is my next go to. The best part of making your own nut butter (aside from the amazing smell in your house, and being cheaper and fresher than store bought) getting to lick fresh warm nut butter off the spatula with no judgment 😅
750g raw almonds & 1 pinch of Himalayan Salt
Pre heat oven to 150°C
Spread 750g of almonds evenly onto a baking tray and roast for about 10 to 15 minutes. You’ll know when they’re ready because they become fragrant. As soon as you can smell the almonds take them out. This is the oils releasing and they’re in their prime state.for making nut butter. If you leave them too long they will be dark roasted and bitter.
Allow to cool and then throw them in your food processor. Blend Blend Blend. You will need to stop every so often to scrape down the sides. You do not need to add any extra oil just be patient. Keep scraping and blending until it’s creamy. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
